Originally, I planned to visit Chairman Mao’s Mausoleum but we didn’t realize that the Mausoleum closed early. So, we visited The Great Hall of the People. The building was constructed in in 1959 in just ten months by volunteers and is the home of the national peoples congress. Tourist are not allowed access to all of [...] Riding the bus in Beijing is crowded, especially during rush hour. Every morning I take bus #9 for three stops to school. It’s a double decker bus that is perfect for people under 6 foot. Unfortunately I’m 6′4″ so basically I either get very lucky and find a seat or stand. [...] |
